Tim with new garage. A huge addition for Uptop in 2020.
Now all tools can be found at a glance!
New Storage Shed
Many helped to tear down old garages and prepare the site for this new prefab garage from Lakeside Cabins. Huge thanks goes to Tim and Julie for funding this addition for Uptop!
This Club Cadet ProZ100 mower is now Uptop and doing a great job helping to maintain the property!
Our new mower allows for rapid clearing of bramble and briar from the Uptop main bowl. Garden plans are in development to bring even more beauty Uptop.
Riding mower
By having a riding mower, we can now cover a lot of ground in little time. Also, with it’s buddy cart, it is now more easy to move tools to areas to work without exhausting ourselves just getting to a site.
Wine Grape and Orchard Development
In 2020 we planted another 60 grapevines thanks to a grant from the Yensans. We also planted three blueberries in the fall (Julie got some late fruiting varieties from MI) and about 200 daffodils and 25 allium were planted in fall. Also, wildflower beds were established in the bowl.
Blue Whale Sculpture Re-painted
Many contributed to the repainting of the Blue Whale sculpture. Mike Erickson started the refurbish project by priming the structure. Mike Patton identified the paint color to use and worked with Frank Yensan’s family to secure the paint and complete this restoration.
Clearing of bramble from Historic Equipment Row
Mike Erickson has freed all old equipment and the barn area to allow for appreciation of these old relics and greater access to the barn complex.
Wildflower beds in the bowl
Dave Davis worked a number of areas and seeded with wildflower mixes to benefit pollinators Uptop. More wildflower beds are being planned for 2021 and beyond.
