These newts have a complex lifecycle whereby immatures migrate to land for a year or two before returning to water to mate. The immature has many red spots and looks quite different from the adult.
They are seen Uptop during late summer but have a short adult phase of only two weeks.
Often in spring Uptop you can see collections of butterflies on the gravel road.

While not endangered, Eastern box turtles are in decline throughout their range. They have been seen Uptop over the last few years.
